- Judo has just been classed as a compulsory sport and will be showcased at Birmingham 2022
- It first was included in the 1964 Games
- NI first competed in judo in the Auckland 1990 Games where they won two bronze medals (Womens 66kg – Joyce Malley and mens 71kg – Colin Savage)
